This selfie tells a story of a girl and her dreams. I remember this day so well. We walked around the property as if for the very first time and pictured ourselves having coffee in the corner of the upstairs porch watching the sunrise. It’s a dream that our family just won’t let go. It’s been almost two years since we stumbled upon it, and our heart grows fonder with each visit. From the very first time I saw it, it took my breath away. Tears swelled as I pictured our family settling in to call it home knowing that it would take a very BIG GOD to redeem our family from all that we have been through. Many people that we know often wonder how long are we going to wait. The question they ask, “Are you at least looking for other options?” No is our answer. We are waiting on our God. When you have a BIG DREAM you have to lean in to a very BIG GOD to make it come true. It’s something beyond you.
We all have big dreams and for so many of us we often times give up because of the doubt and fear that creeps in to keep dreaming them. Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream to see people of all color and cultural backgrounds live together in peace and love…to see each other as equals. He never gave up on his dream even though he never saw it come to full fruition in his lifetime. He fought for it, he prayed for it. He had to lean into our very BIG GOD to help make it come true, it was something beyond him. This past week all of our hearts have been torn and broken to see people fighting each other all because of the color of our skin. Oh how this must grieve our Heavenly Father who created all of us in His image. He loves us all the same. There is not one of us better than the other. We must remember the mastermind behind the killings is Satan himself. He is a liar and a thief. He simply turns us against each other and then sits back to enjoy the show. We begin to destroy ourselves without even thinking about the repercussion of our action. Oh dear brothers and sisters who are in Christ, we must be a part of making this STOP. We must take our eyes off of the circumstances and place them back on to our very BIG GOD who makes dreams come true. I have been accused of being naive and wearing rose color glasses. I have even been told to take them off and start seeing the world for how it really is. I refuse! I refuse to stop BELIEVING and DREAMING in a world that is full of LOVE. You know why? Because His Kingdom IS COMING! He is coming to restore and make all things new (Revelation 21:5), and He is doing it now through His faithful ones that are choosing to LOVE. We have the opportunity to be a part of bringing His Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven.
Listen to the Lord’s prayer:
“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, they will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And, forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And, lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.” Matthew 6:9-13
We need to get back to praying this prayer daily. We need to remember that our dreams of our nation coming together in love, bending the knee to our God who forgives us and heals is coming true because of the people who are believing, loving and bending the knees in prayer. YOU are a part of making this dream come true. He is using people like you and me to restore and make new. So let’s get to loving each other. Let’s get to praying on our knees for our great nation and seek forgiveness for our sins. He sees us and hears us. His Kingdom IS COMING! All of our dreams are coming true when our Christ returns. He is the Prince of Peace,Lord of lords, the First and the Last, the Alpha and Omega. So don’t STOP DREAMING! Keep dreaming your BIG DREAMS and lean in to your very BIG GOD. He is FAITHFUL!!! #truth #gloryup #HisKingdomISComing
Once again you have a precious heart to touch my heart. I so want to see honesty in all homes and towns and workplaces become the most important foundation for every thing we think and do…the foundation of our lives. The hardest 1st thing I had to do to start my change toward an open, honest life was to apologize to a precious man in our church for putting my nose in his business, unasked. I had scolded him for mowing the lawn in the heat …being a heart attack recoverer. I wrote him a card apologizing.(I am still needing to work on this). I have now learned that the first apology was the hardest. This friend died years later while mowing his yard in the heat. (That did not make me right). If each of us were serious about.. open honesty.. and the judgements we come to .I believe that we could see each community go more slowly from what is perceived to what is felt. God is in the light
not the darkness. I so Need Him in my choices. Love you Sweety.
